Crime of the Week 02/04/2013

CASE SOLVED

Erath County Crime Stoppers needs your help in solving the crime of the week.

On Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 5:48 pm the Stephenville Police Department received three calls within a matter of seconds reporting their car windows being busted out in the 1400 block of W. Washington. Officers arrived on scene and met with all three victims in a parking lot nearby. All three vehicles had busted windows on the driver’s side and all three were traveling east bound on W. Washington in the 1400 block at the time their windows were busted out. It appears by the size of the hole in the windows the projectile used was either a BB or pellet that would have been fired from an air rifle or air pistol. There were never any reports of shots being fired or any other loud noise in the area. It appears that from the direction of travel, point of impact, and the fact all three vehicles were hit on the driver’s side the suspect(s) were in the area of Bender Dormitory. A TSU Police Officer and Stephenville Police Officer searched the area around Bender Dorms and did not locate any suspects. There were no injuries reported by the victims but each vehicle has property damage that can result in charges being filed on the suspect for criminal mischief.
